How to keep heat, food and Wi-Fi on in a winter storm outage with a power station
Keep the furnace blower, not a space heater, on the station. A gas furnace fan, fridge, Wi-Fi and three lights need about 3,110 Wh over a 12-hour night calculated; our best fit is the EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3. A space heater on low needs 3,000 Wh for just 4 hours. Maker specs checked .
Yes. EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3 runs a furnace fan, fridge, Wi-Fi and lights through a 12-hour storm night for about 13 h. calculated from maker specs, .

Goal: 12 h. Hours use maker inverter efficiency where published, otherwise the 0.85 estimate, and leave out idle draw the maker doesn't publish. Stations shown out of stock or with availability not shown are skipped. How we pick.
Furnace fan: the load that keeps heat on
A gas or propane furnace still needs electricity for its blower and controls. This plan assumes the blower runs part of each hour, which is the main thing to check on your own furnace label.
| Device | Qty | Hours a day | Running | Starting | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Furnace blower fan (1/2 HP) | 1 | 8 | 550 W | 1,200 W | Champion wattage chart |
| Refrigerator (full-size) | 1 | On the whole time | 275 W | 1,000 W | ENERGY STAR data + Champion chart · cycles about 19% of the time calculated |
| Internet router/modem | 1 | On the whole time | 15 W | No extra | Champion wattage chart |
| LED light bulb | 3 | 6 | 11.5 W | No extra | Champion wattage chart |
Together: 875 W running, about 1,600 W while the largest motor starts, and 6,219 Wh a day. Over the 12-hour goal that is 3,110 Wh at the outlet calculated.
Many furnaces are hard-wired, so connecting one to a power station takes a transfer switch or inlet installed by an electrician. Plan for that before the storm.

Why a space heater drains a station fast
| Device | Qty | Hours a day | Running | Starting | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Space heater (Low) | 1 | On the whole time | 750 W | No extra | Champion wattage chart |
Together: 750 W running, about 750 W while the largest motor starts, and 18,000 Wh a day. Over the 4-hour goal that is 3,000 Wh at the outlet calculated.
Only big stations last the 4 hours; our best fit is the EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3 at about 4.6 h calculated. See the space heater scenario.
Keeping food cold
A full-size fridge for a 24-hour outage needs about 1,252 Wh; our best fit is the PECRON E2400LFP calculated. Fridge outage scenario.
Cold-weather limits from maker specs
Lithium batteries can discharge in colder air than they can charge in. If the station sits in a cold garage, bring it inside before recharging.

Safety basics
- Battery power stations make no exhaust, unlike gas generators, which must run outdoors away from windows.
- Follow the maker's manual for ventilation, extension cords and placement.
